Aman Tokyo

@aman hotels are known to be these secluded otherworldly sanctuary’s but the @aman_tokyo was I believe, their first real segue into expanding their signature experience onto an urban destination property, so I was beyond excited & grateful to be invited to stay there for a few nights.

Amongst other things, Tokyo is known for its vibrancy & crowded nature, so having a grounding place to call home whilst you’re in town, will feel like the ultimate juxtaposition — one you will greatly appreciate after a long day of wandering the halls of the studio ghibli museum, discovering new beauty brands at Cosme & an impromptu dinner on Omoide Yokocho..just me?

Between the slate and warm woods, light paper textures & floor to ceiling windows, there isn’t one part of this hotel that you look at and don’t feel in awe of. It’s a truly incredible hotel and believe it or not, its best feature isn’t even the interiors, though they’re a close second.

The best part? The staff, this overly capable, kind & considerate team are what will make your experience next level. I at times felt overwhelmed by their dedication and I know that’s somewhat typical in Japan in general but that known Japanese service combined with the “Aman way” leads to a level of service you probably didn’t think was possible.

Though the food was great, I’ll be honest with you, whether I was eating at local 7/11 or a 24 hour curry house or here at the Aman in Tokyo, I didn’t have one bad meal. The food in this city is truly unparalleled but yes just to be clear, the food at Aman Tokyo was great.

The average nightly price is around £1.5k. Will you find somewhere that is cheaper and still magical in Tokyo, honestly yes, but there are too many special elements within the Aman Tokyo to casually overlook; so if you can, explore spending a couple of nights here or perhaps reserve a table at their restaurant or maybe even book yourself in for an incredible treatment in their spa.
